At the 8th annual S.Pellegrino Almost Famous Chef North Regional Competition, Kendall College student Brian Schreiber took first place with his signature dish of bacon-wrapped halibut tournedos. Schreiber will compete against 10 other regional winners from the United States and Canada and a top culinary student from Italy at the finals competition at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, Napa Valley, Calif., March 5 to 8. The overall winner will receive the title of Almost Famous Chef, up to $20,000 in prizes and a paid apprenticeship from one of the participating chef judges.
